Shaw Memorial Church

This is Shaw Memorial Church where I will be working next year. Thanks to Kevin Endres, the minister currently there, for the photos! We leave Jhb on 1 January. I need to report for duty on 8 January. Everything sounds very good about where I am going!

I'm just trying to figure out the orientation of those pews ... ! It looks like a nice bright and airy place. Do you know where in Grahamstown it is?

I guess the pews at an odd angle are for the choir. African traditional Methodist Churches tend to be very formal, and there will probably be a choir with robes and a sense of importance. I do at least have some idea of what to expect and what the personal challenges are going to be for me. The church is in a 'township' area - possibly Joza? I don't know the area!

Ah, that gives me a vague idea. In "the valley"? Your most recent post looks interesting. I must take a look at that video -- it might touch on my present studies. But time for bed now ...
