Wesley Guild Charter - 1960

I found this in the vestry at Greytown Methodist Church.(Click to enlarge.)

The General Secretary whose signature is hard to make out was Rev Ted Floweday. He was a supernumary (retired) minister at Randburg Methodist Church when I was a member there, and that is where he passed away. There is a plaque in memory of him in the Metro Methodist Church in Pietermaritzburg, where I spend some time as well. I don't know the other signatories.

Something seems to be wrong with comments - hard to open.

Ted Floweday (Flowerday?) was minister of the Metropolitan Methodist Church in Pmb when I was a student at UNP, and his daughter Frances was a fellow student.

Without the r - I remember the (to me) odd spelling.
Trying to remember Frances - he may have been staying with her in Randburg. I suspect I am not making a connection somewhere, because I can't remember . . .

Maybe she was married and had a different surname. Anyway, it brought back some memories.

Correct, yes. Ted was my uncle and Frances my counsin. Frances married Richard Armstrong and settled in Canada. Sadly passed in January 2008: http://www.lifenews.ca/guelphmercury/profile/24377--armstrong-frances-elizabeth-suddenly

That is sad. Thanks for the comment. You have helped me remember that it was his daughter Penny that Ted was staying with in Randburg. How could I forget that?
